Collaboration between the public and private sectors is vital when it comes to safeguarding critical U.S. infrastructure, including sectors like energy, healthcare, communications, and government services. Preventing cyberattacks on these systems is essential to ensuring public safety, economic stability, and national security.

Nessit founder Geoff Ness has been instrumental in this important work as a board member of InfraGard, an independent nonprofit organization dedicated to protecting U.S. infrastructure and the American people. Established in 2003, InfraGard serves as the private-sector component of the FBI’s national infrastructure protection program, connecting more than 85 chapters of vetted security professionals nationwide.

Geoff was recently awarded the Public/Private Partnership Award from the InfraGard National Awards Program in recognition of his collaborative work to strengthen the bridge between public intelligence and private-sector implementation. His leadership has supported efforts between local organizations and the FBI to share insights, enhance resilience, and educate stakeholders on emerging risks. Geoff was honored to attend the ceremony in New Orleans, where his award was presented by FBI Assistant Director Gretchen Burrier.

For Geoff, this recognition underscores his company’s broader mission: to provide proactive, partnership-driven cybersecurity solutions for their clients. “I am deeply humbled by this honor, which truly belongs to the dedicated team working tirelessly behind the scenes to protect our nation’s critical infrastructure,” Geoff says. “Our greatest impact often comes from the quiet, persistent efforts that strengthen security and resilience for those we serve.” The Nessit team takes a proactive approach to cybersecurity, identifying vulnerabilities, providing continuous monitoring, threat response, and strategic infrastructure planning to minimize downtime and mitigate risk.

Cybersecurity is a continuous, evolving process, and his team takes a comprehensive, strategic approach with managed IT services to identify vulnerabilities and mitigate risk through 24/7 monitoring, threat detection, and multi-layered defenses. Whether partnering with businesses, municipalities, or non-profit organizations, Nessit’s goal is the same: to create secure, scalable, and efficient technology environments that drive long-term success.
